Little British Style: Mrs Brown’s Boutique

Recently Willow’s hair has finally become long enough that I now need to ‘do something’ with it, so I was beyond delighted when Mrs Brown’s Boutique wanted to send us a few beautiful Hair Bows. I was even more thrilled when I discovered that Mrs Brown’s Boutique is a gorgeous little homemade British Brand run by the lovely Felicity. Felicity is also a mother of girls not disimilar in age to mine so I felt an instant connection to her. Like myself with blogging she also does the majority of her work in the front room after the littles have gone to bed in the evening.

After the arrival of their eldest daughter Mrs Brown’s Boutique was born out of Felicity’s love of crochet. After running out of people to make items for she decided to start an etsy store and sell her beautiful wool garments. (They seriously are gorgeous, I am far too excited for Autumn and Winter so I can start purchasing some wool accessories!!) All of the wool for her crocheted pieces are sourced from Wool Warehouse, in her opinion its the best online yarn shop! However as the temperature started to warm and the sun shine she decided to expand Mrs Brown’s Boutique to include pretty Hair Bows and colourful Teething Necklaces.

I couldn’t not mention the simple, beautiful monochrome packaging, we all know how much I love the personal touch that small British Brands provide and Mrs Brown’s definitely delivered. Not only am I in love with the design, the wrapping and the stickers but she’d also made the time to place a little handwritten note inside- Yup, I’m sold!

We have tried many hair clips and hair ties in the last few months and I can quite honestly say that their grip has nothing on these hair bows. They stay in place for hours and grip so easily but without pulling her hair out. Even Hubby has commented on how well they keep the wispy toddler hair out of her eyes, he’s also put them in her hair a few times and has loved how easy they are to use.

I was both amazed and surprised when I discovered the Hair Bows are actually made from acrylic, making them super durable and they’ll withstand swimming, a bath, rain or a good splashing in the paddling pool.

There may have been a lot of squealing when we first opened our parcel (possibly a lot from me) especially when we (I) spotted the pink polkadot bow, being a huge Disney fan we may have nicknamed this Willow’s Minnie Mouse bow. There are a ridiculous amount of colours and patterns to chose from on their website, I’m only glad I didn’t have to pick as I feel I may have been there a while. Felicity sent Willow six bows and they fit both her personality and clothing style perfectly, they look fab with her hair down or up, with a dress or tee and leggings.

There may have also been some jumping for joy at the arrival of Allana’s teething necklace, we have recently entered teething land and anything that will help ease Allana’s pain is a win in my eyes. The fact that this is also available in a wide selection of colours and can be worn as a wonderful accessory are a bonus to me. Again I’m super pleased with the colours of ours as it matches the majority of my wardrobe and the plastic breakaway clasp will easily break away and come off if pulled firmly. The beads are made from food grade silicone so they are perfectly safe for Tot to chew on, she also quite likes just playing with the beads in her hands and I can’t say I blame her as the texture and feel of the beads is really quite nice.

You can find the full selection of hair bows (which are available as a set or singular), silicone teething necklaces and crocheted hats, shoes and blankets on the Mrs Brown’s Boutique Etsy store, as well as on Instagram and Facebook too. Please pop over for a look and show some support and love to this awesome Mummy made British Brand.

Love the bows! The Popple’s hair is still a bit too short to put anything in it, but I love the idea of using some bow clips when she’s a bit older – if she’ll let me! #bigpinklink

Willows hair has only really been gotten long enough in the past 6-9 months. Originally she hated anything in her hair but now she asks for hair clips!! x

They are adorable Hannah and I love the fact that you are showcasing small British business. I used to make bows myself so I know exactly what you mean about them staying in toddler hair, plus there is a real art to putting them in too. I will definitely go and check out Mrs Brown’s Boutique, looks like my kind of place. I’m a bit of a sucker for packaging too 🙂

Oh bless her, I’m sure her hair will be long enough before you know it. Willows hair wasn’t long enough until she was well over two 🙂 x
