It Happened Again….

Oops I did it again…

Another completely unintentional and unplanned break from blogging. I spent August enjoying quality time with my girls away from the usual busy routine of manic mornings, rushed nursery drop offs and days in the office. I had planned to spend a little time writing during my time off work but it just never happened and to be honest it was probably for the best. In the end I spent nearly the whole time completely offline (bar a few Instagram posts and stories) and it made me rethink a lot of thoughts I had on blogging and social media.

After not writing or being particularly creative for nearly two months its had me thinking about what I want to do next. I’ve been listening to a number of podcasts for bloggers and creatives as well as finding new blogs and Instagram accounts to help fuel my imagination, creativity and positivity. And now, I honestly couldn’t be happier or more excited with how I’m feeling about my blog. I’m feeling rejuvenated, productive and full of new ideas that two months ago wouldn’t have even crossed my mind.

I’m going to apologise in advance for my sporadic posting, part of the promise I’ve made to myself is that I won’t pressure myself to write consistently, but instead write when it feels right. Over the next few weeks I’m going to start sharing posts I’ve been wanting to write but been too nervous or afraid to share. I am going to write about topics that are close to my heart as well as sharing tips and tricks that I hope will help others too.

I mainly want to write for myself again, somewhere along the way I lost sight of why I started this little corner of the web and I want to regain that sight and love for blogging. Thank you to everyone thats followed along with my blog so far, you don’t know how much your support means. I can’t wait to start sharing with you all again soon and I really hope you’ll stick around to see it.

P.S Let me know if you’d like me to share the podcasts, blogs and books I’ve been listening to and reading. They’ve really helped me and maybe they could help you too.

I took an unintentional break off last week. I just felt like relaxing. I think it helps us be better bloggers when we take a break to just have some fun. Welcome back! #bigpinklink

Relatable. I don’t tend to write much these days. It’s hard to get motivated and life gets in the way. A break is a good thing, it helps you centre. #bigpinklink

Blogging breaks always help. I always miss the writing, but never the social media! #BigPinkLink

Yes please share your books etc, would love some recommendations. I think a break sounds great, particularly if it’s reignited your creativity. Looking forward to what you’re going to share over the coming months xx #bigpinklink

I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your time offline. I think a break from the web to spend really being present in your life can be such a good thing, and help you appreciate both your real life, and what you get from being online. It sounds like this is the case for you. I have really been slacking on my social of late – I find it so time consuming, and if I spend all my time online I have no inspiration for my posts! Look forward to reading the posts you have always really wanted to write. Writing should always be for yourself first, I feel. And yes – would love any tips on great blogs and podcasts. #bigpinklink

Hi, I think that taking a break always helps. The great think about blogging is that you can fit into life as when you can unless you are a pro of course #bigpinklink

Good for you! I think it’s so good to take a break from it all. I think after the summer I’m feeling more relaxed about when I blog too as the whole point was it was up to me. Good luck with your new ventures! #bigpinklink

I am exactly the same with blogging – I don’t believe in writing ‘for the sake of it’ – I want my blog to grow organically and it has had a big shift recently because I haven’t put pressure on myself to be something I didn’t want to be. It was like therapy for me in the beginning and now I feel like it’s becoming something else – I’m going with the flow – it’s the best way! Looking forward to reading more of your posts in the coming weeks/months #bigpinklink

It’s understandable that we take breaks now and again. I’d be interested to read what you’ve been inspired by. #bigpinklink
