When I first started blogging at the beginning of this year I had no idea what a wonderful world I was joining. I didn’t know about the amazing blogging community I would become a part of, let alone any blogging conferences I could attend. That all changed a few months ago when I saw a few bloggers tweeting and posting about BritMums Live 2016. I decided to look into it and discovered it was the UK’s biggest blogging and social media conference. At first I wasn’t sure whether to go due to being such a newbie but that all changed after reading ‘What to expect from a Blogging Conference’ by Aby at You Baby Me Mummy.
I got talking to the wonderful Claire at The Pramshed and the lovely Kirsty from Something Crunchy Mummy and after a very long conversation on Twitter I decided to take the plunge and purchase my ticket. I can’t wait to meet these two lovelies at BML16. Kirsty has even kindly offered to meet me at the train station, I hope she realises she’s stuck with a tag-a-long now (sorry Kirsty!)
Here’s a little bit about me…..
My name: Hannah G
My blog: thediaryofanordinarymum.com
Find me on social media at:
How I look: A little on the short side, dark brown and pink hair (although what colour it will be for BML16 I am yet to decide) and brown eyes.
Is this my first blogging event? Yes, and I’m very excited although also slightly pooping my pants too. The idea of being surrounded by so many talented people for a day is a little overwhelming and I know I’m likely to get starstruck at least once or twice.
I will be wearing: Probably something a little like this…
What I hope to gain from #BML16: I’m hoping to come away with a lot more knowledge and fresh ideas. I’m excited to attend both the ‘YouTube’ and ‘Inspiration Creation’ sessions and hope they’ll boost my imagination and creativity.
I also cannot wait to meet all the lovely bloggers I’ve chatted to over the past few months, all the lovelies from #TribalChat, especially the wonderful Louise of Pink Pear Bear and the fantastic Emily from Emily and Indiana (I really want to thank them both in person for putting up with my annoying questions and generally being super lovely and welcoming!)
My tips for a great conference: I literally have no tips at all. I’m just going to enjoy my time at BML16 and talk to as many people as I can. I’m going to attempt to take lots of notes and hundreds of photos (apologies if you don’t like having your photo taken, I tend to get a little snap happy!)
If you see me wandering aimlessly looking a little lost, please come and say hi.
Are you going to BritMums Live? What tips do you have for a first timer?
