If you follow me on Instagram you may have seen my Insta Story a few days ago that pretty much explains the non existence of blog posts and random and erratic posting on social media, and that would be my lack of evenings. Since the clocks changed and the evenings became much lighter my girl’s have decided that bed time is not something they wish to abide by anymore. Instagram is pretty much the only social media I seem to be keeping up with and I’m so glad I have been, I love that Instagram is fast becoming a platform where more and more people are ‘micro blogging’ in their captions. So, as well as stunning photography there are also many exciting, happy, emotional and inspirational captions to be read, as well as watching ‘life behind the scenes’ in their Insta Stories.
So this week, I thought I’d pay a thanks to a few of those wonderful and beautiful accounts and share them with you here.
I have only recently come across Whimsy and Grey and I’m in love with her photography, such beautiful muted tones but so so pretty. And if you’re a parent (or someone thats often behind on cleaning) you’ll love her hashtag #mydirtysink, this woman really can make anything look beautiful.
Phew! It's been ages, sorry! I've been having a break. 😃 We've been to the amazing Zermatt this holiday, where these two learnt to ski! They had 3 mornings of lessons and by the 3rd, they were doing blue runs and making turns. We were so amazed! I was also pretty beginery but managed some blue runs on the 2nd day with my skilled husband. Who switched to a snowboard on the 3rd day to be more in line with me. Although he wasn't! The man can do any sport he tries with ease. If you saw my stories, you would have seen that we got upgraded to the penthouse, it was a trip for my Mama's birthday, (a special one, sssh!) so it was a lovely touch. It was so lovely but after 11 hours traveling yesterday, I'm feeling pretty glad to be home. Even if there is a lot of washing to tackle! 😃 Would rating would you give your Easter? Good, bad or eggshellant? 🙈🙈(Sorry! Mum joke alert!!) #pinklinker
I’m sure a lot of you already follow my wonderful Big Pink Link co-host Lou but if you don’t then you really should. I love how bright and colourful her photography is and she always writes such brilliant and honest captions. And if you’re looking for a giggle then you simply must watch her Insta Stories.
The only way I think to describe Cathryn’s account is simply stunning, I love her crisp bright image that always either feature some gorgeous flowers, her adorable daughter or the most incredible looking food!
I couldn’t not share this lovely account from a fellow local Mum Laura, we met a few months ago at our local National Trust proper and bonded over our love of photography and Instagram. Laura takes the most stunning photos of her 5 boys exploring, how she gets them to stay still for shots like this I will never know!
• S A T U R D A Y • I am SO excited for today as I'm off to do my other job and photograph a very beautiful family in amongst the bluebells 🌿 I started taking a 'proper' interest in photography at the beginning of 2016, when I used it as a form of therapy to get myself exploring our new area with the children to help overcome my anxiety and agoraphobia. I never dreamt that people would start asking to hire me 💕 I'm coming close to using # blessed 😜😂 Wish me luck! (Ps I'm sharing this photo with this caption as it's one of my favourites taken recently 💦)
Hannah is such an incredible photographer, managing to capture every moment beautifully and brightly. She’s another avid Insta Story user and I love her humour and honesty behind the scenes.
One more day of being nought. One more day of being able to say: "She is so many months." Tonight we tuck her into bed and we say goodnight to our baby. And while tomorrow might not change a single thing about her. It means so much to us. A year ago tomorrow she was born quickly into this world, and as fast as I found her in my arms, she was taken from us and placed into an incubator, tiny, small and alone. Leaving NICU wasn't the end of the tough times, but she took every challenge in her path and conquered them all with a ridiculous smile. I've written a little letter, a post on my corner of the internet…I don't know…I just wrote some words for her today. She was sat on my lap and I wrote for her as she bashed the keyboard and made it almost impossible. I love her so much. I am so grateful that tomorrow, we've come full circle, and I can wake up to my baby girl and no one is going to take her away this time. I love you so much Daisy Nelle. I honestly do. . . . #motherhoodthroughinstagram #thatsdarling #motherhoodalive #myhappycapture #littlefierceones #littlestoriesofmylife #letthembelittle #kidsforreal #cameramama #thehappynow #pixel_kids #our_everyday_memories #letthekids #babiesofig #babygirl #dailycute #oneyearold #babies #bubba #broody #mumma #mumsofinstagram #firstbirthday #daisynelle #pierrerobinsequence #sticklersyndrome #cleftpalate #cleftstrong #littlefighter
I think Charlotte is a true inspiration, if you don’t already know her and her story then you really should head over. I always love her microblogging captions and her photographs are always beautiful, especially those of her gorgeous little girl.
Feeling like I am entering the weekend exhausted and a list as long as the Thames of shit to do. So so looking forward to @snapphotofest next week and meeting up with such inspiring photographers. I'm going to miss the kiddos so bloody much – This is the longest I've left them in nearly 6 years and I've never left Elsie for this long!! 😩😩😩 but they are in the very capable hands of Nanny and Grandad and I know they're going to have a bloody blast and won't even give two craps that I'm gone 😂🙈 – – – – – #myhappycapture #littlefierceones #letthembelittle #letthembebrave #dearphotographer #photooftheday #lifecloseup #littleloves #worldoflittles #ukparentbloggers #childhoodunplugged #candidchildhood #momswithcameras #childofig #momtog #motherlylove #ohmamamoment #dailyparenting #capturingchildhood #developinglife #capturemypositive #documentyourdays #unitemotherhood #creativelife #photographyislife #our_everyday_moments #slowlivingforlife
Charlottes black and white photography is absolutely gorgeous and her behind the scenes Insta Stories are just as beautiful and always stick to the black and white theme.
Did you know my podcast lulls babies to sleep and entertains toddlers? Apparently. I mean I can't guarantee it or anything 🙈😆. Anyway, new episode is up today talking to @thatkat of @blogtacular and asking, 'is blogging dead?'. Naturally, she says NO – and shares why she thinks it's as essential as ever for online creatives. What are your thoughts? Does your blog still have an important place in your business or online fun? (Mine does!) link in bio / meandorla.co.uk/podcast11
Another absolutely stunning account and one of my top favourites for inspiration has got to be Me and Orla, her muted style is what my dreams are made of and her images always feel slightly magical to me.
Last night I finally started going through our holiday photos and this one caught my eye. 💙 It's rare to get genuine smiles from these two nowadays, if you ask them to smile you get a forced grin, so it's nice to have two genuine proper happy laughs caught on camera. Our trip feels like so long ago now even though we've only been back a few days. And I still haven't unpacked which is just ridiculous. 😩 Normally I am really good at just getting home and doing it straight away to get back to normality, but for some reason I've not done it properly yet. I do love these little ladies, they grew up so much this past couple of weeks. ❤️
Another beautifully bright and colourful account is this one from Katie, she always makes the most of the gorgeous sunlight and captures it just at the right moment. Her photography is flawless but she’s always so lovely and honest in both her captions and Insta Stories.
Do you have any favourite Instagram accounts? Is Instagram your favourite Social media too? Oh and if you have any tips for bedtime in the brighter months then please send them my way!!
