Goodbye to The Diary of an ‘Ordinary’ Mum

27th February 2017 58 Comments

When I first started blogging I wanted to share my journey as a Mum, and The Diary of an ‘Ordinary’ Mum served as the right platform for that. But, I also started blogging for myself, to bring back my love of writing and reading after having children and to give myself a hobby, other than being a Mum. In the last couple of months I’ve found myself struggling to blog, struggling to share what I actually want to write about as I didn’t feel I had the right platform to do so. And part of that was my blog name, I felt that in a lot of ways it was holding me back, so, after a lot of deliberation, discussion, nerves and excitement I decided to take the leap and change it.

So today, I am saying goodbye to The Diary of an ‘Ordinary’ Mum and hello to Just Hannah Jane. Of course my blog will always have an element of my girls in it as I am a Mum but I also want it to be about me, Hannah. I think at points over the past three years I’ve forgotten about myself and my interests, and I really want to blog about some of these loves as well as my daughters.

You’re probably wondering what you can expect from Just Hannah Jane, well firstly, I’m hoping you’ll find more blog posts. One of my Hopes and Dreams for 2017 was to write more and at present I am no where near to achieving this. However, now I’m going to be sharing more about some of my favourite things, I am already feeling more motivated to write. So over the future you can expect many more posts about, Disney, Interior Design, Fashion, My Little’s and most importantly Positivity. I have to be honest and say, if you’re looking for a blogger who likes a rant then I might not be who you’re looking for, I for one, love to read a good rant, but I’ve discovered that its just not in me to write them. There is so much negativity in the world at present, its everywhere we look on the TV, radio, internet and social media, and I won’t be adding to it, I want this to be my little happy sparkly spot of the net. If you’re looking for happiness, positivity and pixie dust then you’ve probably come to the right place and you can expect plenty of it from me in the future.

I’ve also changed my name across my Instagram and Twitter (I’m having a few issues with Facebook but hopefully that’ll be changed soon too!), I hope you all love the new name and look as much as I do. I am very excited to start this new chapter of my blogging journey and I so hope you’ll all continue to stick around to see the changes.

Congratulations on your new start and I wish you the best of luck. I remember before I started blogging that it wasn’t a good idea to include mum or baby in your blog name if you wanted to stick around because at some point it wouldn’t be relevant. That’s why my blog name is so different, but it was good advice because when I started I was a mum of two young children and a baby, but they are growing up so fast now and I’m no longer a mummy blogger.

Good luck with the new name. I’m sure your name change will be just right for you. It’s amazing how a new name can make all the difference. I changed my blog name after a few months of blogging and I have so much more confidence and I am much happier with the new direction. It feels much more ‘me’. I love your logo too. #bigpinklink

Really excited for you that you’re taking a new direction in your blog. I’ve been blogging for about 2 seconds compared to you, but I’ve realised in the past few weeks that I have to write what’s exciting for me. otherwise I just have no interest in writing. Sounds like Just Hannah Jane is your thing, and you can take it in whatever direction you want. Good luck! Looking forward to reading it. #bigpinklink

Sometimes become a mother makes you forget you are a person too. Here’s to you celebrating that and farewell to the Ordinary Mum (which I loved btw). There are certainly enough ranters out there, be included. #bigpinklink
