I always see fellow bloggers sharing their Me and Mine posts at the end of each month and absolutely love the project. I have been wanting to and meaning to join in for some time. This month gave me the perfect opportunity to start as we had our first photo shoot as a family of four. We took a wander through Plymbridge Woods and despite a teething baby and grizzly toddler our amazing photographer Emma Barrow still captured some wonderful and beautiful images of us. With lots of exciting things to come in the months ahead I really want to capture more photos of the four of us, I hope by joining in with the Me and Mine Project it will remind and encourage me to make time for these photos.
This month has been a fairly quiet one for us, with me returning to work after maternity leave and Allana’s first days at Nursery we didn’t have too much planned. Although I was previously nervous about my return to work I’ve been loving the adult conversations, hot coffee and uninterrupted snacks, plus the cuddles and smiles from my girls after a day in the office make it all a lot easier.
We had family visiting at the beginning of the month so the girls and I enjoyed a few girly days out whilst Daddy was at work, including a very fun day at the zoo. We also spent the day at my parents, eating lots of tasty food and getting a lesson from Grandad on how to make paper logs in preparation for winter. Allana got to meet her Great Auntie and Uncle and second cousins for the first time too, I hope its not too long before we see them again- it had almost been a year!!
We also spent an afternoon celebrating Granny’s birthday, we met Ed’s family at a little country pub where we enjoyed a delicious carvery and yummy chocolatey cake baked by my Sister in Law. Willow loved the little play area at the pub and chasing Oscar the dog around the garden.
We have been making the most of the evening sunshine by taking plenty of family walks later in the day. Willow usually takes her balance bike, this month she has really mastered her balance and speed. She’s been loving getting in some extra practice when Daddy’s in the garage by cycling around our shared driveway.
Allana has been standing a lot this month and is getting ridiculously close to crawling. Even without crawling she is now able to shuffle her way across the floor and I have been surprised at where I have found her when I return from a toilet break or making a coffee.
Having some glorious sunshine we have spent most of the past week in the garden, Ed bought the girls a sprinkler (best £4 we have ever spent!!) which Willow has been obsessed with, whilst Allana has loved chilling in the paddling pool watching her big sister run around and getting the rest of the family wet.
