After an afternoon of disrupted naps and car journeys we arrived at my Parent’s house in desperate need of a leg stretching and energy burning activity. Luckily, my parent’s now live in a small village so finding places to walk and explore is not a difficult task. We donned our shoes, grabbed the dog and headed out for a short evening stroll.
It is wonderful to step outside my Mum’s house and have this beautiful woodland not more than five minutes down the road. Willow loved watching the stream and kept informing her Grandma that there was water, and showed much concern when Twixi (the dog) decided to jump in for a refreshing paddle.
Little Miss did start to get a little tired towards the end (our plan worked) and as I had baby strapped to me, ‘muscles’ Grandma stepped in to carry Willow for a short while. It was also at this point that she discovered the grass getting stuck in her sandals and between her toes, luckily Grandma saved the day by completing emergency grass removal.
We took a little wander across a wooden bridge to ‘visit the trolls’ and spent a while taking in the peace and beauty of the stream whilst Twixi enjoyed a final dip before heading back for the delicious delights of Fish and Chips.
I love the long Summer’s evenings bringing extra hours of exploring and stunning sunsets to boot. Have you been making the most of the brighter and warmer evenings?
